 The University is actively cooperating with other foreign higher education establishments and scientific centres with which it has direct cooperation agreements.
 SPSUACE has concluded 35 long-term agreements with  higher education establishments in 12 different countries of the world, among them are such countries as Germany, France, Finland, Denmark, Poland, China, etc.  According to these agreements there has been envisaged the following:

· Student Exchange Programme (i.e. having practice in another country), as well as exchange of postgraduates, trainees, teaching and scientific staff;

· Students` tuition abroad during one or two semesters;

· Realization of joint scientific programmes and projects after accomplishing of which the university scientists together with their foreign partners publish monographs and scientific articles, textbooks and other teaching materials.
In accordance with cooperation agreements, students from Germany, France, Finland come to SPSUACE to study as exchange students, whereas Russian students go to have training and tuition in these countries. Being an exchange student is a challenging, rewarding and fun experience. You're not a tourist or a guest. You're actually living in your host country as a member of that community. You can have an oral practice in a foreign language and learn about the world first hand. Student exchange programmes encourage an international perspective which  in a very competitive world is a highly sought after quality.
SPSUACE participates in Finland-Russia Programme “FIRST” directed by the International Exchange Centre CIMO and financed by Finland. Student exchange according to the Programme “FIRST” is based on the current partner relations between Russia and Finland higher schools.
As the competition winner SPSUACE participates in the Programme together with the Tampere Polytechnics, Mikkeli Polytechnics, and Hame Polytechnics. The purpose of the Programme is a  sustainable cooperation in student exchange.
     As a result of joint international project of cooperation with the Higher Technical School of Wiesbaden and the Goethe Institute (Germany) in SPSUACE there has been created the German Library which has a unique collection of books on architecture, construction and design in German. In 2005 on the basis of the library there was opened a media centre supported by the Goethe Institute and the General Consulate of Germany in Saint-Petersburg. In the media centre students and the teaching staff using the most modern computer technologies can get to know the recent achievements in architecture, read special publications, look at drawings, etc.
Architecture designs made by SPSUACE students are constantly demonstrated at international exhibitions and sent to competitions. It has become a tradition for the University students to participate in the International competition of best diploma projects on architecture and environment protection which is held in Florence.
 SPSUACE actively collaborates with representatives of foreign states located in Saint Petersburg, among them the British Council, the French Institute of Saint-Petersburg, the German Service of Academic Exchange (DAAD), American Fund ASPRAL and the Programme on Scientist Staff Exchange “FULBRIGHT” financed by the US government.
The University scientists together with their foreign partners are carrying out work on coordination of the Russian curriculum with those of German, French, Finnish and Danish higher educational establishments in order to be entitled to award “double-valid” diploma.
