Dear colleagues and friends,

Welcome to the page of Department of Physics and Chemistry in Construction!

Physics and chemistry make the basis of practically all engineering disciplines used in construction. In the course of studying, students of our University take courses of lectures, perform laboratory works, and solve educational problems at practical classes. The course of physics includes five modules:

1. Physical fundamentals of mechanics

2. Statistical physics and thermodynamics

3. Electricity and magnetism

4. Wave optics

5. Fundamentals of quantum physics

The main goal of the courses in physics and chemistry is to let students gain present-day concepts and understanding of fundamental physical and chemical processes in nature and teach them to use the new knowledge for solving practical tasks in their professional activities.

To do that, the curricula in physics and chemistry include theoretical studyes accompanied by practical training independent work on performing individual tasks.

Material resources of the laboratories of the Department allow to carry out practical works in all sections of the disciplines, while the available software provides for calculation in thermotechnics, light engineering, acoustics, etc. While performing practical works, students get acquainted with measuring equipment, learn to estimate accuracy of measurements, and estimate errors.

Teachers of the Department wish students successful studies in these fundamental disciplines and mastering their knowledge and experience.
