Since 2010, the Department has been the Competence Center for the analysis of structures using FEM on the basis of the SOFISTIK software package, Germany.

The Department holds seminars and meetings for department heads on the matters related to the improvement of training, methodical support of the educational process, the organization of student research, practical training, and connections with production organizations. The Department supports the Academic Methodological Association (AMA) of universities in the areas of "Construction" (IISS) and "Road Construction" (MADI). The Department is engaged in the development of educational standards for Bachelor’s degree, Specialist, and Master’s degree programs in the field of road construction.
