Welcome to the Department of Reinforced Concrete and Masonry Constructions!

Civil engineering and concrete have become synonyms since long ago. It is impossible to imagine any present-day construction without using concrete. It is one of the most widespread and common .materials used in construction. At the same time, concrete is an extremely complex composite material with a wide range of unique features. Concrete is successfully used in various climate and exploitation conditions; it is environmentally sustainable, has virtually unlimited resource base and a relatively low cost. We should also mention its architectural and engineering distinctiveness, broad options for using regional raw materials and utilization of technological waste, its exploitation reliability, low energy intensity and environmental compliance. Concrete is and will remain the leading material among many others.

The department staff consists of highly professional teachers. Most of them have academic degrees and titles, and are acknowledged experts in the professional area. The department provides education at all degree levels: Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree, and Specialist’s degree. Besides this, our staff members supervise postgraduate students. Our specialists have trained many tens of specialists for Asia, Africa, and Latin America.

The educational process is computer-based: we broadly use diverse present-day calculation software (SCAD, ANSYS, MicroFE, LIRA) and computer graphics for the educational and research purposes.

Our department actively cooperates with leading construction organizations in Northwest Russia. It also maintains strong working relations with the Ministry of Architecture and Construction of the Republic of Belarus.

I wish all our students to graduate from the University with honors and gain the knowledge which would help you become highly qualified professionals in civil engineering.
