Grants and scholarships

Dear SPbGASU teachers, students, young scientists! We offer you the options for grants and scholarships in the sphere of international cooperation. This is a good opportunity to gain useful experience and make contributions to your careers.

1. Erasmus+

Erasmus+ is a European Union program aimed at supporting cooperation in the field of education, vocational training, youth and sports for the period from 2014 to 2020. This program integrated several previously existing programs, including Erasmus Mundus, Tempus, the Lifelong Learning Program, Youth in Action, Alfa, Edulink and others. The Erasmus + program is managed by the Education, Culture and Audiovisual Executive Agency (EACEA) in Brussels.

The main objectives of the Erasmus + program are internationalization and enhancement of the quality of the educational process, promoting international cooperation to develop the potential of higher education institutions and sharing best practices, developing mobility and cultural ties between students and teachers.

Opportunities for students under the ERASMUS + program:

  • one semester of studying at a European university
  • Master's degree from a European university
  • Professional experience during internships in European companies
  • Development of new skills in the process of volunteering in the EU.

2. German Academic Exchange Service DAAD

DAAD scholarship programs for the Russian Federation are divided into the following main areas:

  • Student programs (summer German courses at German universities, study tours for student groups, short-term internships in Germany)
  • Post-graduate studies
  • Programs for postgraduate students and scientists
  • Special programs for graduates, postgraduate students and teachers

3. Stipendium Hungaricum Program for studying in Hungary

The Hungarian Government Stipendium Hungaricum Scholarship Program launched in 2013, was created with the aim of improving the quality and relevance of Hungarian higher education and attracting foreign students to study at Hungarian universities.

Within the framework of the program, the Hungarian side offers scholarships for studying in Hungarian or English (undergraduate and graduate programs, included studies, scientific internships for postgraduate students). Stipendium Hungaricum is managed by the Tempus Community Foundation.

4. Outgoing academic mobility program through the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education

The outgoing international academic mobility program of the RF Ministry of Science and Higher Education is designed to provide opportunities for citizens of the Russian Federation to undergo training (short-term internships) in foreign countries, fully or partially paid for by the host, to gain experience in teaching and research abroad.

5. Scholarship of the RF President for study abroad

The all-Russian open competition for scholarships of the RF President is held annually as part of the scholarship program of the President of the Russian Federation for the study of students and postgraduate students abroad. The aim of the program is the preservation and development of the intellectual potential of the Russian Federation, strengthening state support for students and graduate students of educational institutions of higher professional education.

Program goals:

  • Support for training the best Russian students and postgraduate students at leading universities in the world
  • Training qualified personnel with the knowledge, skills and experience necessary for effective work in priority areas of science, technology and engineering development in the Russian Federation in the conditions of increasing global competition
  • Promoting the integration of Russian educational organizations in the international educational and scientific space. 

Russian and postgraduate students enrolled in full-time education at the expense of federal budget allocations, who have manifested their capacities in various fields of science, culture and art, achieved significant success in basic and applied research (except for those completing studies in the current academic year), can take part in the competition. The organizer of the competition is the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

6. French Government Scholarship Program

The Embassy of France in Russia annually allocates over 200 scholarships in various specialities to provide financial support in the framework of student and scientific mobility programs from Russia to France. The French government scholarship program aims to train talented young professionals who are able to make key decisions of tomorrow, and contributes to the development of long-term cooperation between French and Russian universities.
