The department of Physical Training was established in 1936. The Department’s activity is aimed at the formation of physical culture of individuals and the ability to use various forms and means of physical education, sports and tourism to maintain and strengthen health, professional training and self-training for future professional activities.

 Each year, university students improve their sportsmanship at inter-university, city, regional, national and even international competitions, bringing the university fame with their victories and perseverance.

 The composition of the educational and sporting disciplines of the Department of Physical Training includes: automobile sports, bullet shooting, boxing, sports (basketball, badminton, volleyball), gymnastics (aerobics, rhythmic, athletic, artistic), wrestling (sports and combat sambo, judo, freestyle, Greco-Roman, taekwondo, kick boxing), sports tourism, weightlifting, football, polyathlon (winter and summer all-around), athletics, checkers, chess, etc.
