The Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transportation held a competition for "The Best Group Leader". Its participants were the leaders of various academic groups - fr om the first year of the bachelor's to the second year of the master's degree. “The competition was announced in March of this year. Its purpose was to strengthen the status of leaders among students. It is not so easy to be an exemplary and respected student who is listened to. It is important to support and appreciate the leaders for their work,” said Oksana Karnaukhova, Deputy Dean for discipline at the FFLCT.

The first stage of the competition included a survey among students of the faculty, who evaluated the work of the leaders according to several criteria:

• class attendance;
• interaction with group members;
• timeliness of bringing up-to-date information to the group;
• ability to resolve disputes and conflict situations;
• active participation in the life of the faculty.

At the second stage, the leaders presented their achievements to the competition commission. It included Irina Lugovskaia, Vice-Rector for Youth Policy; Oksana Karnaukhova, Deputy Dean for discipline, Associate Professor at the Department of Forensics; Tatiana Meshechko, Deputy Dean for discipline at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Transport Maintenance; Kristina Chaiko, chairman of the student council of the faculty. The contestants spoke about their scientific achievements, participation in the life of the group and the university. The commission assessed the progress of the leaders in points and summed them up with the points obtained as a result of the students' survey.

The competition ended on 29 May with the departure of the leaders and faculty active members to the SPbGASU training site in Krasnoe Selo. There they had teambuilding games held and the winners announced.

The first place was taken by the leader of the third-year academic group Maria Chuprova. Maria became the leader in 2020.

The start was difficult, as it was a year of distance learning. But, step by step, the group grew close. Now it is a friendly team, wh ere everyone helps each other. Maria is a participant in the "Adapters" project, an interregional scientific and practical conference "Actual problems of forensics and law in construction and transport in the context of informatization, digitalization and high-tech development", student legal advice office (legal clinic).

Second place went to Renata Khazhieva (first year).

Third place went to Ksenia Toesteva (third year).

“Our faculty is one big family, wh ere everything starts with the leaders. It is on them that the psychological climate in the team depends,” says Oksana Karnaukhova.
