On April 20, 2016 within the frame of Week of Germany in Saint Petersburg at Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering there was opened exhibition “Hans Sharun – architect of dream”. Before the opening ceremony there was read a lecture about the prominent German architect.

The lecture was read by Dmitry Sukhin – engineer and architect, member of the German do.co.mo.mo, Saint Petersburg ICOMOS, member of the German Sharun’s society, representative of the project “InterGOD” (Chernyakhovsk). After the lecture had finished, there was presented the architectural and restoration products of the company “Kaimfarben” and “Raitzink”, sponsors of the event. At the ceremony of the exhibition opening General Counsel of Germany at Saint Petersburg was represented by Korinna Gize, employee of the department of culture and press.

According to vice-rector for academic activity Irina R. Lugovskaya Saint Petersburg at Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering has already participated in the events within the programme of Week of Germany at Saint Petersburg not once. Thus, within the frame of the “week of Germany 2011” there was read a lecture and organized a workshop of representatives of the famour architectural bureau “Benisch Architekten”, and the exhibition of the Main engineering authority of the Bavarian Ministry of internal affairs “Energy efficiency in design and engineering”.

Hans Sharun (1893 – 1972) was an owner of the architectural bureau in Insterburg (now known as Chernyakhovsk, Russia), a professor of Breslavl state academy of arts and crafts, a professor of urban planning at the faculty of architecture of Berlin technical university. Since 1945 he has been working as a councilor in urban planning and a head of the Department of engineering and municipal living of Big Berlin administration. Mr. Sharun made one the greatest buildings of the 20th century – concert hall of Berlin philharmonic hall, where there was created harmony between space, a human being and music. “Music is the most important; everything else is generating from it”, - wrote architect in his Explanatory note. In addition to Berlin philharmonic hall H. Sharun created numerous prominent projects, based on principles “Organic architecture”, where the image is defined by the internal contents.

Exhibition “Hans Sharun, architect of dream” will be open for visitors at Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering till May 20, 2016.
