Репортаж с выставки работ Игоря Нахимова в петербургском архитектурном 2019

The exhibition features graphics of a member of the Union of Artists of the Russian Federation, a teacher of the SPbGASU Drawing Department I.G. Nakhimov

Igor Nakhimov was born in the Far East, the City of Khabarovsk. He got his education at the Graphics Faculty of Leningrad Repin Institute of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture (the Academy of Arts). Nakhimov’s works have not once been displayed at city, republican, and international exhibitions. The artist belongs to the creative association “Osnova” (“Fundamental”).

Nakhimov took part in the creation of a portrait gallery of scholars and teachers of the Philosophy Faculty and scholars of the Philology Faculty of SPbSU. He also illustrated books by I. Akimushkin, L. Tolstoy, R. Shtilmark.

Opening the exhibition “Nakhimov. Creative works,” Director of the Fundamental Library Irina German noted that the excellent works created in the classical manner were brought to the forum of students and teachers of SPbGASU.

“This is a break-in of culture into our daily life,” Irina German said.

According to I.G. Nakhimov, more than 70 old and new works are presented at the exhibition.

“I composed this exhibition with consideration of students’ interests,” the artist said. “These works were performed in different techniques, from nature and without it; they include landscapes and portraits, and some fantasies about landscapes. I hope, the exhibition will be interesting to all those who have at least some connections with the fine arts.”

By Nakhimov’s words, once he’d got an idea, he would immediately connect it with a particular material.

At the opening, students and colleagues of the artist spoke about him and his creative works. Associate Professor of the Department of Drawing Ye.A.Chernaya attributed I.G. Nakhimov’s graphics as “Venetian school works.”

The exhibition presents landscapes, portraits, architectural graphics, made in pastel and pencil. Sketches of streets of provincial Russian cities are placed side by side with portraits and real and fantastic landscapes of palace and park ensembles in the vicinity of St. Petersburg.

You can see the works in the department of scientific literature of the SPbGASU Library (room 217).
