SPbGASU delegates attended the conference on board of the St. Petersburg Architectural Ship

On June 6, 2019, the St. Petersburg Architectural Ship embarked on its sixth voyage. Its passengers, St. Petersburg's foremost architects, designers and builders meet in early June on board of the Architectural Ship. The goal of the project is to discuss the pressing problems of interaction between architecture and the construction industry, strengthen business ties and cooperation, exchange experiences and promote advanced technologies. The on-board part of the tour is entirely dedicated to professional discussions.

The project was organized by the CONTACT Business Communications Center. The conference was named “Changes in the construction industry: new challenges or new opportunities?”

SPbGASU was represented by Alexander N. Panin, Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering, Inna I. Sukhanova, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Economy, and Valery V. Georgiadi, Associate Professor of the Technosphere Safety Department. The latter presented a report on the information modeling of fire safety.

We are now switching to BIM technology. In order to ensure fire safety during BIM design, it is necessary to shape information models of protected objects. It should be borne in mind that each building is quite individual. For example, there are no two identical shopping centers: each of them has different offices, shops, movie theaters, pharmacies, parking areas, etc. The same can be said about multi-family residential buildings. There is no possible way to apply the same information model of the object of protection without understanding the features of a specific building.

In the opinion of the conference participants, it was quite productive, giving a lot of information about various useful aspects of their professional activities. The presentations of the speakers caused lively discussions, which was no surprise due to the timeliness of the topics raised in course of the conference.
