The SAFECON project is implemented within the framework of the Russia-South-East Finland 2014–2020 cross-border cooperation program and is funded by the European Union, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland.
The SAFECON project was discussed at the scientific and practical conference in the field of "Technosphere safety"
On September 3, the delegation of SPbGASU took part in the scientific and practical conference “Strategy and tactics of dynamic reduction and elimination of injuries and occupational diseases: the zero goal ", which took place in the St. Petersburg exhibition complex “Expoforum" as part of the 29th International agro-industrial exhibition “Agrorus.”

Vitaly Tsaplin's speech. Speech by Nadezhda Subbotina. Conference participants
The delegation included the head of the Department of Technosphere Safety Vitaly Tsaplin, postgraduate students Nadezhda Subbotina and Omar Shakshak. Representatives of SPbGASU spoke about the SAFECON project, within the framework of which a practice-oriented approach is being introduced into the safety training of construction workers. It consists in developing a safe behavioral model for employees by using an innovative interactive learning environment (Smart Labor test site).
✔ Omar Shakshak made a presentation on the “Computer training program ‘Smart Work’ as a modern teaching method” and presented new applications for VR and PC platforms to the audience. The young scientist is sure: the creation of full-fledged console applications is a very relevant sphere.
“In the digital age, there are all the possibilities for creating powerful and user-friendly software. The use of virtual reality in the Smart Work computer training program allows people to be immersed in an interactive training ground, where the scale of all construction equipment is observed. The virtual picture is supplemented with animation. You can see the workflow from start to finish, identify cases of compliance and non-compliance with labor safety measures. Sound and animation effects allow you to achieve a more realistic interactive environment," said the postgraduate student.
✔ Nadezhda Subbotina informed the conference participants about the introduction of practice-oriented training for workers in the construction industry with the use of the Smart Labor test site. According to her, now and here, the training ground as a physical environment with interactive training modules has been commissioned and is ready to receive students. The next task is to introduce the mandatory use of the training ground into the training programs on labor protection for specialists in the construction industry.
Nadezhda Subbotina said that SPbGASU has already developed guidelines for conducting various practical exercises at the site, included in the training programs for specialists.
“The widespread use of the training ground, the mandatory training in labor protection with its use will radically change the situation with industrial injuries in Russia, reduce the number of accidents due to the so-called human factor,” she believes.
