Presenting the Smart Labour programme

The presentation was made by Tatiana Goncharuk and Omar Shakshak, specialists of the Scientific and Educational Centre for Occupational Health and Safety in Construction at SPbGASU.

"We introduced the congress participants to a new format of practical classes. ‘Smart Labour’ creates innovative conditions for gaining professional competencies in ensuring safe operations in the field of construction. The attendees were interested in the virtual programme, which allows obtaining vocational training in a remote format. This format is very relevant to our large country," said Tatiana Goncharuk.

Participation of SPbGASU representatives in this large-scale event helped to raise awareness of the professional community about the innovative training site, which will open on the 29th of September within the framework of the 5th International Conference on Safety in Construction.

The “Smart Labour” training site was established under the Russian-Finnish project SAFECON ("Safe, Skilled and Productive Construction Sites"), which is part of the South-East Finland – Russia CBC 2014-2020 Programme funded by the European Union, the Russian Federation and the Republic of Finland.

The project partners are South-Eastern Finland University of Applied Sciences (XAMK) and LAB University of Applied Sciences in Finland, as well as Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering and Pushkin Leningrad State University on the Russian side.

The project is implemented with the support of the St. Petersburg Committee for Science and Higher Education and the Committee on Labour and Employment. Strategic partner of SAFECON project is the National Association of Builders (NOSTROY).
