"In Russia, there are significant differences in the frequency of industrial accidents among men and women. Injuries are usually higher in men. They are employed in more difficult and traumatic professions, and are more prone to unsafe behavior. As a result, they are more exposed to a high risk of accident at work.

Thus, in the Leningrad Region in 2021, 320 people were injured at work, 104 of them were women (32.5%) and 216 were men (67.5%). In 2020, this ratio was 30.3% and 69.7%, respectively. In 2021, 175 people (54.7%) were injured through the fault of employees and the employer, three of the victims were employees who were under the influence of alcohol and drugs.

Most cases of industrial injuries, 14.1% of the total, occurred in the territory of the Vsevolozhsk region. Lodeynopolsky district in 2021 became an area with zero rates of industrial injuries", said Tatiana Gryazina, acting head of the Department of Social Statistics of the Office of the Federal State Statistics Service for St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region.

Other topics were the issues of financing sanatorium treatment for workers employed in harmful and dangerous working conditions, and compliance with the requirements of sanitary and epidemiological legislation during the construction of large investment projects.

After discussing the planned issues, the participants of the meeting got acquainted with the interactive training modules of the Smart Labour training site. Tatiana Goncharuk and Nadezhda Subbotina, senior lecturers at the SPbGASU Department of Technosphere Safety, gave a tour of the site and told how various target groups are trained in safe methods and techniques for performing work, as well as labour protection issues in construction using an innovative site. Also, employees of SPbGASU showed the developed computer training program "Smart Labour", based on the use of VR technologies.
