examination of grounds and foundations projects of industrial and civil structures. Consultations on the arrangement of grounds and foundations of buildings and structures in difficult engineering and geological conditions;

consultations and expertise on issues of foundation construction in the reconstruction of buildings and in the installation of waterproofing basements and underground structures.

The total number of carried surveys and examinations is more than 300.

  • Preparation of national and international documents in the field of foundation engineering.
Co-author of the Recommendations for the Design of Tank Foundations with Limitation of Lateral Soil Movements (NIIOSP named after N. M. Gersevanov of the State Construction Committee of the USSR, 1985) and Territorial Building Codes (TSN 50-302-96 "Establishment of Foundations of Civil Buildings and Structures in St. Petersburg and in the Territories of administratively subordinated to St. Petersburg”, TSN 50-302-2004 “Design of foundations of buildings and structures in St. Petersburg” and TSN 31-332-2006 “Residential and public high-rise buildings”).

Research interests
  • Research work in the field of foundation engineering on soft soils, accounting for technological settlements of buildings and structures, numerical methods of calculation, inspection and examination of the foundations of newly erected and reconstructed buildings, steel vertical cylindrical tanks, oil refining complexes
  • Head of the scientific school "Designs and technologies for the installation of foundations and underground structures"
  • Scientific supervision of postgraduate and doctoral students, including foreign ones
  • Under the guidance of Professor Mangushev, 16 scientific all-Russian and international conferences on geotechnics were held under the patronage of RAASN and ROMGGiF with the publication of scientific papers, including a collection indexed in the SCOPUS system (2019)

Publications
Rashid Mangushev is the author and co-author of more than 280 scientific publications, including nine monographs (five of them in the last five years), 12 copyright certificates for inventions and patents, five textbooks "Soil Mechanics" and "Bases and Foundations" (two with the stamps of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and two with the stamps of the  Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAACS), 11 copyright inventions and patents, three all-Russian reference books, three geotechnical dictionaries and ten federal textbooks. The textbooks "Soil Mechanics" (2020) and "Bases and Foundations" (2019) have been assigned the stamp of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences (RAACS).
