The Steel Construction Development Association is holding the IX International competition of student works in the field of application of steel structures in construction and architecture Steel2Real. Bachelor's, master's and specialist's students of universities of architectural and civil engineering specialties, students of colleges of architectural and civil engineering specializations are invited to participate. Young professionals who graduated from a university or college no earlier than 2021 can also become participants.
In previous years, participants developed projects for residential buildings, and this time they will have to develop architectural and structural solutions for a school with 1,100 seats on a steel frame, including using modular structures.
This year's competiton task also features additional criteria that may increase the rating of the work. Participants are asked to determine the cost of building one pupil-place based on the estimate, perform seismic calculations and apply modular structures for individual blocks of the building.
Works for the competition are accepted until 25 March, 2024. The final will take place on 23 May, 2024.
