On October 31, 2012 Saint Petersburg state university of architecture and civil engineering held the International scientific-practical conference “Theory and principles of training and education in a higher school”.

Participants of the conference were greeted by the vice-rector for academic activity of SPSUACE, D.Sc. in economics, professor Alexander A. Petrov. In his speech the vice-rector emphasized the importance of the conference, especially in regard of the 180-year anniversary of SPSUACE and gave a high estimate to practice of organizing communication between the professors and the students which traces back to the traditions of the prerevolutionary period of our country and city. Professor A.A. Petrov also paid special attention to necessity of new forms and variability in the assessment process of students.

Authors of the reports made during the conference studied various aspects of the training process such as concept fundamentals of methods used in teaching non-profile disciplines, principles of assessment of students based on the point-rating system, problems of education and motivation orientation of students.

Administration of SPSUACE expresses gratitude to the Chair of History of SPSUACE for the organization of the International scientific-practical conference “Theory and principles of training and education in a higher school”.
