The Department of Intercultural Communication of the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering announces the translation contest “Discover the World of Translation 2023” for SPbGASU students. The contest is open for students with an advanced level of English proficiency, as well as students of the Translator in Professional Communication program. The contest is held in two categories:
Nomination 1. Translation of popular science text from English into Russian
Nomination 2. Translation of scientific and technical text from English into Russian
Contest participants can decide on any nomination or participate in both, choosing one text from each nomination. No more than one translation from each nomination can be accepted from each participant. Competition works will be accepted from 25 to 30 September, 2023.
Requirements:
- Works must be typed in a computer text editor. Each translation text is compiled in a separate file. Each work file must contain in the title the full participant's name, nomination and number of the participant’s study group (Ivanov V.V._nomination 1_group...).
- Works performed with the help of translation programs, borrowed from translations of third parties, and also executed not in compliance with the requirements will not be allowed for evaluation by the competition jury.

- The results of the contest will be summed up in October 2023 All participants and winners of the contest will be granted certificates.
