International students at the SPbGASU Preparatory Department continue their exploration of Russian culture and history. New experiences and discoveries help them learn Russian.
On 2 March, students from the Preparatory Department from China, along with Natalia Tishchenko, Associate Professor at the Department of Intercultural Communication, visited the Okhta-Park ski resort near St Petersburg. Some participants had previous skiing and snowboarding experience, while others were trying them for the first time.
On 10 March, Marina Mizgireva, Assistant at the Department of Intercultural Communication, held a thematic class for international students in the Preparatory Department, dedicated to two Russian national holidays: Defender of the Fatherland Day and International Women's Day.
On 13 March, international students took a walking tour along the route St. Isaac's Cathedral, Admiralty Embankment, and Palace Square. The tour was prepared and led by Natalia Savelyeva, a lecturer at the Department of Intercultural Communication.
On 18 March, Natalia Tishchenko organized a joint excursion for Chinese students from the Preparatory Department and first-year Chinese master's students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering. Meeting at the House of Books, the group toured the oldest bookstore, discussed the building's previous owners, crossed Nevsky Prospekt, and visited Kazan Cathedral. They then went to the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, strolled along the University Embankment, and visited the Kunstkamera.
On 24 March, Natalia Tishchenko and students from the Preparatory Department from China visited an exhibition at the Academy of Arts dedicated to the history of animal studies and plant drawing classes. They learned how the educational system at this educational institution developed in the 18th century.
