SPbGASU students studying in the field of "Land management and cadastre" - Aleksandra Gorodnitskaya, Alina Illarionova, Elizaveta Kondratieva, Veronika Obryazhaeva and Roman Rashchupkin - took part in the X International Geodesy Olympiad as part of the forum "INTEREXPO Geo-Siberia", which took place on 20-21 May in Novosibirsk.
This year the competition was dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
11 teams from Russia and Kazakhstan competed for the title of the best.
The participants underwent individual testing and then proceeded to practical tasks: laying theodolite routes, leveling, reverse intersections and a geodetic quest (searching for points by coordinates). The day ended with a sports competition on horizontal bars, where the participants demonstrated their physical fitness.
On 21 May, the Novosibirsk Expocentre hosted the Brain Ring and a captains’ competition in the format of “Svoya igra" (My game).
Following the competition, the SPbGASU team won bronze in the nomination “Reverse linear-angular resection and point search by coordinates”.
The team's scientific supervisor, Acting Head of the SPbGASU Department of Geodesy, Land Management and Cadastre Yana Volkova received a letter of gratitude on behalf of the organizing committee.
