The "Vector Expertise" team from the SPbGASU Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport took part in the International Competition in Forensic Science and Expertise "Virtual Forensic Expert 2026." Our students took a respectable third place.

The competition was organized by the Siberian Law Institute of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia and was held online using state-of-the-art VR equipment called "Virtual Forensic Expert." The competiton was attended by nine teams from Russian universities, as well as a team from Kyrgyzstan.

Our university was represented by a team of fourth-year students majoring in "Forensics" (team captain - Renata Khazhieva, participants - Maksim Semenov, Karina Liu-Liang-Min, Anastasia Savintseva and Igor Stepanov).

Participation in the competition contributed to the development of skills such as the effective use of virtual reality to solve forensic problems, the development and planning of investigative actions, and operational-search activities.

"It was a great honor to participate in such an event, especially using virtual equipment," noted Renata Khazhieva. "When a university has modern equipment and facilities that are used not only during classes but also allow for participation in modern educational events, you realize you're studying at the university of your dreams!"

Aleksey Kopanev, the team's curator and a member of the competition jury representing our university and Associate Professor at the Department of Forensics, believes that such competitions increase interest in mastering a future profession, expand the range of professional skills, develop professional thinking, and facilitate the development of skills in a virtual environment.

We congratulate our students on their outstanding results and wish them success in their future expert work.
