On 11 and 18 April, SPbGASU hosted an economics workshop for students of the Faculty of Economics and Management from JSC MSU-90 (part of the TITAN-2 holding).
On the first day, the company was represented by Ekaterina Churaeva, Director of Economics and Finance; Svetlana Smelova, Head of the Construction and Installation Works Accounting Group; and Anastasia Serzhantova, Head of the Labor and Payroll Department. They provided students with a detailed overview of the company, its operations, and the specifics of each department, and presented case studies based on real-life industrial situations. Following the first day, the students emerged as leaders in an impromptu employer ranking, which was created to distribute internship vacancies.
On the second day, the event was moderated by Ekaterina Churaeva. She discussed the specifics of accounting in construction, the role of the treasury, and analyzed the functions of the planning and economics department of a construction organization. Ekaterina Vladimirovna emphasized that understanding these aspects was essential for understanding the construction economics.
The second day concluded with a game titled "You are the financial director of a construction company." Students answered questions and proposed management solutions for various situations. Some were immediately approved by the guest, while others were adjusted, but ultimately, the main result was achieved – a solution to each of the proposed problems. This experience will be useful for students both during their internships and in their work activities upon completion of their studies.
