Karina Sarkisova, a Master's student in the Department of Transport Systems and Road and Bridge Construction (TS&RBC) at St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering (SPbGASU), won the All-Russian Research Paper Competition "Business and entrepreneurship development: challenges, solutions, prospects" in the "Logistics and Supply Chain Management Development Trends" category. The competition was held in May at Pacific National University (Khabarovsk).
Karina Sarkisova presented her work, "Development and Implementation of an Integration Platform for Assessing the Transport Accessibility of New Residential Complexes." The study developed a system for assessing the transport accessibility of residential complexes, taking into account the diverse factors affecting citizen mobility.
The methodology is based on calculating a weighted average score for a set of 17 indicators covering various aspects of transport accessibility: accessibility of the metro and other types of rapid transit, development of ground passenger transport (including the number of routes, service intervals, and alternative modes), distance from key facilities (the city center and highways), availability of infrastructure for pedestrians, cyclists, and PMDs users, availability of parking space, entry and exit safety, road congestion, and traffic jam forecasts.
The proposed methodology allows for an objective assessment of mobility conditions for future residential complex residents, and the developed integration platform could become a sought-after tool for developers, urban planners, and residents when making decisions about development and housing selection.
