Representatives of the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering took part in a career guidance event held by the new Personnel Center, "Youth Work in Russia," organized with the support of the St Petersburg Employment Center, with which the university has a long-standing partnership. The event was attended by St Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov and the Chairman of the Legislative Assembly of St Petersburg Aleksandr Belsky.
The "Youth Work in Russia" personnel center, which opened in June in the Moskovsky District, became the first specialized platform in St Petersburg where young people can develop their individual educational and career trajectories—from career guidance testing and familiarization with in-demand professions to choosing an educational institution, completing internships, and ultimately finding employment. The center was created to develop a unified citywide career guidance system that unites schools, colleges, universities, and employers.
While touring the center's facilities, Aleksandr Beglov noted that career guidance should begin during school years. According to the governor, one of the city's key goals is to help teenagers make informed career choices so that by the time they graduate, they understand their desired field of study, where to continue their education, and what specialists will be in demand in the labor market. The governor emphasized that collaboration between educational institutions and employers is particularly important in preparing qualified personnel for the St Petersburg economy.
One of the event's venues was a master class from the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering, conducted by the Dean of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, Andrey Zazykin, and the Head of the Department of Transport Maintenance, Igor Chernyaev.

In an interactive format, schoolchildren learned about the educational opportunities offered by SPbGASU, including the fields of study offered by the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, the specifics of training future engineers, and the professional development prospects for graduates. University representatives discussed the demand for specialists in the transportation, road construction, and automotive industries, as well as employers' current requirements for engineering personnel.
During his tour of the center, St Petersburg Governor Aleksandr Beglov, a 1983 graduate of LISI (now SPbGASU), visited the university venue and learned about the work of its teachers. He also attended a master class where SPbGASU representatives spoke to schoolchildren about the opportunities for obtaining an engineering education and career prospects in the construction and transportation sectors.
The "Youth Work in Russia" Personnel Center boasts modern infrastructure for conducting career guidance events, educational programs, career counseling, and meetings with employers. During its first month of operation, the center hosted 22 career guidance occasions, attended by over 300 schoolchildren and students. The center's work is based on the principle of individualized placement: after career guidance testing, specialists help young people determine the most suitable educational and career path based on their interests, abilities, and the city's workforce needs.

The participation of SPbGASU in the work of the Personnel Center became another stage in the development of cooperation between the university and the Employment Center of St Petersburg. Such interaction makes it possible to introduce schoolchildren to modern engineering professions, increase the interest of young people in the construction and transport industries, and also attract talented applicants interested in receiving a high-quality engineering education.
