A student-curated exhibition is currently on display in the recreation area of the Department of Intercultural Communication (fourth floor of SPbGASU Building 5). It features samples of modern building materials and information about them in English.
The exhibition was developed by first- and second-year students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, the Faculty of Architecture, and the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, who are studying English as part of the elective course "Foreign Language for Professional Communication."
Preparing for the exhibition allowed the students to showcase their creativity and research skills, but most importantly, to demonstrate their knowledge of professional terminology in English. During the classes, they shared their visions for the future of building materials.
"Participating in the English-language construction materials exhibition gave me practice using professional vocabulary. I learned how to present complex information concisely and succinctly so that it's understandable to the viewer at a glance," shared first-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Kamil Akhmetov.
"Preparing for the exhibition was a fascinating process, which allowed me to delve deeper into the history of the material's invention, its composition, advantages and disadvantages, and improve my written and oral communication skills in a foreign language," said second-year student of Civil Engineering Yaroslav Zvarich
We thank everyone involved in preparing the exhibition and invite you to visit. The exhibition will run until 16 March.
