An exhibition of new acquisitions over the past period has opened at the Scientific and Technical Library of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
The exhibition opens with the valuable publication "Restoration of palace and park ensembles in the suburbs of Saint Petersburg. 1941–1957. A collection of documents from the archives of the Committee for State Control, Use, and Protection of Historical and Cultural Monuments of Saint Petersburg." This publication provides a comprehensive picture of the enormous work accomplished under the most difficult post-war conditions by Leningrad architects, art historians, museum workers, and master restorers, a work unparalleled in restoration practice worldwide.
Of undoubted interest will be the monograph "USSR participation in the reconstruction and construction of 156 industrial facilities in the PRC in the 1950s: new facts and circumstances of Sino-Soviet cooperation." The publication presents the scale of Soviet economic and technical assistance in the industrialization of the new China.
New acquisitions include textbooks, study guides, scientific events proceedings, and methodological developments prepared by our university teachers as a result of research work in engineering graphics and mathematics, construction and structural mechanics, industrial safety and transport law, cartography, and history.
The exhibition will run until April 30 at the reading hall of the SPbGASU Scientific and Technical Library (room 217).
