SPbGASU Students Became Winners of the Grant Competition and Received Scholarships from the Committee for Science and Higher Education of St Petersburg

The Committee for Science and Higher Education of the Government of St Petersburg has announced the results of the 2025 grant competition for students at universities located in St Petersburg, as well as graduate students at universities, industry-specific, and academic institutes located in St Petersburg. Among the winners were representatives of the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.

The competition is held annually as part of the St Petersburg Assembly of Young Scientists and Specialists. Its goal is to support scientific, innovative, and educational activities aimed at solving the city's pressing challenges and developing urban technologies.

On 11 December, the ceremonial meeting of the XXVIII St Petersburg Assembly of Young Scientists and Specialists was held at the Multifunctional Complex "Gorny" of the St Petersburg Mining University. The meeting traditionally included the presentation of grants, the honoring of the winners, and the presentation of the most significant research projects. SPbGASU was represented by Rector Evgeny Rybnov, Vice-Rector for Research Evgeny Korolev, Curator of the Student Scientific Society Timur Ablyazov, Dean of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building Andrey Zazykin, and Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs of the Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport Elena Ivanova.

The following were among the winners of the grant competition from SPbGASU:

  • Anastasia Kaledina, a PhD student in the Department of Urban Planning, for the project “Urban development of group medical forms based on the work area of ​​doctors from scientific and educational medical centers (using St Petersburg as an example)”;
  • Alina Kvashuk, senior lecturer, graduate of the PhD program of the Department of Geotechnics, with the project “Study of changes in the parameters of the stress-strain state of sandy foundations subject to pollution by oil and oil products”;
  • Ekaterina Zhelnina, a second-year master's student at the Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport, with the project "Minimizing legal barriers to entrepreneurs operating in non-stationary trading facilities";
  • Karina Sarkisova, a second-year master's student at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, with the project "Development of a method for comprehensively assessing the transport accessibility of new residential areas of megacities, used for the implementation of an integration platform";
  • Kirill Sokolov, a graduate of the master's program at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, with the project "Organization of a centralized site for diagnostics, maintenance, and repair of bus air conditioning systems."

The following became scholarship holders of the Government of St Petersburg:

  • Denis Astapov, a fourth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport;
  • Ivan Beshentsev, fourth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building;
  • Alina Vasilyeva, fourth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Architecture;
  • Irina Zaplatkina, fifth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Architecture;
  • Anastasia Zolotareva, second-year master's student at the Faculty of Architecture;
  • Margarita Kotikova, fifth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Architecture;
  • Sofia Krivdina, fifth-year bachelor's student at the Faculty of Architecture;
  • Ekaterina Plenkina, a second-year master's student at the Faculty of Architecture.
