SPbGASU Students Successfully Perform at the Competition “Ideas Transforming Cities”

Preparing for the competition

On 30 May, the awards ceremony for the winners and runners-up of the IX All-Russian competition "Ideas Transforming Cities" took place during the XXXI International Exhibition and Forum of Architecture and Design "ARCH Moscow".

The competition aims to identify and support young architects and urbanists actively involved in improving the urban environment.

From 28 to 30 May, the in-person stage of the competition with 670 participants was held in Moscow.

Students from the SPbGASU Department of Landscape Architecture participated in the in-person presentations of their competition entries.

Based on the jury's decision, our students were among the prize winners.

In the "Yard Improvement" category, fourth-year student Karine Matevosyan was awarded a first-place diploma and an internship at Berso company for her project "Quarter of the future." Her academic advisors were Elena Kutaliya, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Landscape Architecture, and Irina Shkolnikova, Associate Professor at the same department.

Irina Shapovalova (second-year student) was awarded a second-place diploma in the "Improvement of Public Spaces" category for her project to improve and plant greenery at a children's hospital. Supervised by Assistants at the Department of Landscape Architecture, Anna Lapkina and Nikita Zhiltsov.

Second-year students Alina Leonti and Ulyana Motorina were awarded a participation certificate and a commemorative plaque for the "Factory Garden" project. Supervisors: Irina Shkolnikova and Department Assistant Ksenia Tsvetkova

The competition is included in the list of events of the Russian Ministry of Education for the 2025/26 academic year. All winners and runners-up will be included in the state information resource “Talents and Success”.
