On 24 November, the winners and laureates of the "Student of the Year 2025" competition were awarded at the "Boiling Point – PromTechDesign" public space of the Saint Petersburg State University of Industrial Technologies and Design (SPbSUITD). Among the recipients were 12 winners and 24 laureates, who distinguished themselves in science, creativity, sports, and community service.

Among the honored guests of the event were the Vice-Governor of St Petersburg Vladimir Knyaginin, the Chairman of the Committee on Science and Higher Education of St Petersburg Andrei Maksimov, the Chairman of the Council of Rectors of Universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, Rector of SPbSUITD Aleksey Demidov. The administration of our university was represented by the Vice-Rector for Youth Policy Marina Malyutina.

One of the competition's winners was a fifth-year student of the SPbGASU Faculty of Architecture, and the commissioner of our university's Student Squads Headquarters, Sergey Voronin.

"The title of 'Student of the Year 2025' is a valuable award for me, received for many years of active work at SPbGASU, in my squad, and in the St Petersburg regional branch of the Russian Student Squads. I would like to express my boundless gratitude to everyone who opened the doors to this wonderful school of student life and always stood by me. I am thankful to the university administration, the teachers, the student archaeology squad "Lin," the Nevsky Landing squad "Bronze Horseman," and the St Petersburg regional branch of the Student Squads! Maintain an active civic position and be happy!" Sergey shared his impressions.

The Student of the Year Award is traditionally held under the auspices of the Committee for Science and Higher Education and the Council of Rectors of Universities of St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region in 12 categories. This year, 212 students from 42 universities in the city competed for the title.
