SPbGASU hosted a series of expert lectures from specialists from Joint Stock Company "Business Solutions and Technologies" (JSC DRT) on combating fraud and identifying schemes during audits.

Students from the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) had the unique opportunity to learn about modern approaches to detecting and preventing economic crimes from practicing experts at a leading consulting and auditing firm. They were also briefed on employment opportunities within the organization.

The series of events opened with a seminar for fourth-year students majoring in Economics and Management, dedicated to combating fraud. It was led by Lidiya Afanasyeva, Manager of the Audit Services Department, and Alisa Abakumova, Recruitment Specialist at JSC DRT. The seminar explored real-life fraudulent schemes in detail, demonstrated the infamous "fraud triangle" using the high-profile bankruptcy of Barings Bank, and discussed current examples from Russian and international practice.

At a meeting for third-year students, Senior Manager Ekaterina Dugina, Audit Department Manager Nikita Rykov, and HR Business Partner Alina Ishberdina delivered a dynamic, interactive lecture on identifying fraudulent activities and assessing fraud risks. They concluded with a quiz, allowing the students to immediately apply their new knowledge.

In the third session for third-year Management students, Ekaterina Dugina and Elizaveta Novikova, Senior HR Specialist at JSC DRT, focused on financial analytics. They delivered an introductory lecture on tools for identifying fraudulent schemes through the analysis of key financial statement indicators, a core professional skill for modern financiers and auditors.

JSC DRT is a leader in audit, management, financial, tax, and legal consulting. The meetings provided a valuable complement to the university curriculum, connecting theoretical knowledge with real-life business requirements. Students highly appreciated the practical focus of the seminars, the relevance of the examples, and the willingness of the expert practitioners to share their experience.
