
On 23 September, the Saint Petersburg House of Architects opened the exhibition "The path to victory: the work of architects during the Great Patriotic War". It was organized by the SPbGASU and the Exhibition Council of the Saint Petersburg Union of Architects with the support of Yusupov Architectural Workshop LLC.
The exhibition was previously on display at SPbGASU.
The House of Architects will host the exhibition until 3 October.
The exhibition is dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Great Victory. It focuses on the contribution of architects to preserving the appearance of our city.
The exhibition consists of three thematic sections:
- the dedication and work of architects—members of the Leningrad Organization of the Union of Architects of the USSR (LOUA), graduates and faculty of LISI (SPbGASU) during the war years;
- the history of LISI during the Great Patriotic War;
- the story about the Victory monuments erected in Leningrad and the Leningrad Region by LISI graduates and faculty, and members of LOUA.
The exhibition was prepared by Ilya Yusupov, General Director of Yusupov Architectural Workshop LLC, member of the Board of the Saint Petersburg Union of Architects, Associate Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Architectural and Urban-Planning Heritage; Oleg Fedorov, member of the Board of the Saint Petersburg Union of Architects, Associate Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Architectural Design, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture for Career Guidance Counceling; Daria Boytsova, Associate Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Architectural Design, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Architecture for Discipline; and students of the Faculty of Architecture: Yulia Moiseeva, Vera Vykhodets, Natalia Grigorieva, and Arina Tintunen.
