The largest industry conference on urban development, URBANCONF-2026, was held in St Petersburg. Among the speakers at the event was Pavel Ostapchuk, Assistant Professor at the Department of Landscape Architecture at the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering.
Pavel OstapchukAs part of the conference's business program, Pavel Ostapchuk delivered a presentation on the development of therapeutic urban environments. In his report, he raised a number of serious issues, emphasizing the need for a comprehensive approach and proposing the introduction of a new concept: "therapeutic planning."
A special place in the report was given to the practice-oriented training of future landscape architects at the SPbGASU Department of Landscape Architecture, using the example of the project "Quarter of the Future", which is dedicated to the memory of DSc in Architecture, SPbGASU Professor SPbGASU Valery Anatolyevich Nefedov.
Participation in URBANCONF-2026 is further confirmation of the high level of expertise of SPbGASU teachers and the university's active contribution to the development of the industry. Discussing current trends and exchanging experiences with leading national experts not only contributes to the improvement of the university's research activities but also to the development of new educational practices.
