The 2026 admissions campaign has concluded at the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. This year, 5,416 applicants were admitted to bachelor's, specialist's, master's, and PhD programs at SPbGASU.
The admissions campaign finally ended on 30 August – on this day, an order was issued regarding admission to places under contracts for programs on training scientific and scientific-pedagogical personnel in postgraduate studies.
More than 4,300 students were admitted to bachelor's and specialist's degree programs
4,309 people were enrolled in bachelor's and specialist's degree programs in 2026.
A total of 3,164 students were admitted to full-time education, 1,173 of whom are state-funded and 1,991 are self-funded. Another 821 students were enrolled in intra- extramural studies, and 324 in extramural studies. All places in this category for both modes were fee-based.
989 students have been enrolled in the master's programs. Of these, 722 will study full-time: 539 are on state-funded places, and 180 are on fee-paying places. Another 217 students are enrolled in intra- extramural and extramural studies on a contractual basis.
118 students were accepted into the PhD programs this year. All will study full-time: 37 are enrolled in state-funded places, and 81 are enrolled in fee-paying places.
Thus, a total of 1,749 people were enrolled in budget places at SPbGASU in 2026, and another 3,667 applicants will study on a contractual basis.
47.7 percent more applications
One of the highlights of the current admissions campaign was a significant increase in the number of applications. During the admissions campaign, Admissions Committee specialists processed 80,767 applications, which is a 47.7 percent increase from the previous year.
During the campaign, each application was processed manually by admissions specialists.
"The increase in the number of applications indicates increased interest among applicants in the university's educational programs," the admissions committee noted.
Passing scores increased by an average of 20 points
Another noticeable trend of the campaign was the increase in competitive indicators.
Following the admissions process, passing scores increased by an average of 20 points compared to last year. In some educational programs the increase was even more significant.
For example, for specialty 23.05.01. Land transport and technological means, the passing score increased by 45 points.
The maximum passing score for budget places in the general competition was 300 points, set for specialty 08.05.01. Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures, specializing in "Construction of High-Rise and Large-Span Buildings and Structures."
The average score of those admitted through the general competition on a budgetary basis for bachelor's and specialist's degree programs was 82.41 points.
New admission rules
This year, applicants faced a number of changes in the admissions rules.
One of them concerned graduates of secondary vocational education institutions. In 2026, they could take university entrance exams only if their major corresponded to the profile of their higher education. This correspondence was determined by the Admission Rules of SPbGASU.
Changes also affected fee-based admissions. In 2026, the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education introduced additional regulations for admission to contractual positions. Specifically, this affected the programs offered at the Faculty of Economics and Management, as well as the Faculty of Forensics and Law in Construction and Transport – the number of places available for fee-based study was reduced.
In addition, for the first time, the admission rules included a so-called "Day of Silence" – the day when orders for admission were issued, during which an applicant could not revoke consent to admission from the university.
