Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, DSc in Engineering, Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Geotechnics Rashid Mangushev was awarded the Gold Medal of the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences in the nomination “For the best scientific work in the field of construction sciences”.
Rashid MangushevRashid Abdullovich was awarded the prestigious prize as part of a team of authors for the following work: the book set "Geotechnical Engineer's Handbook: Bases, Foundations, and Underground Structures" (edited by V. A. Ilyichev and R. A. Mangushev). The series includes current publications in Russian, as well as a two-volume English edition, published in 2024.
The presented works contain the results of many years of research in the fields of soil mechanics and foundation engineering. The reference books systematize methods for calculating and designing foundations, as well as technologies for developing underground space in complex engineering and geological conditions.
The awards ceremony for the 2025 competition for the best scientific and creative works in architecture, urban planning, and construction sciences took place on 24 April in Moscow during the general meeting of RAACS members. RAACS President and Academician Dmitry Shvidkovsky presented the honorary award to Rashid Abdullovich.
