From 17 to 19 June, the Engineering Assembly of Russia 2026 forum and exhibition hosted a large-scale congress and discussion, focusing on digital engineering as the foundation of the country's industrial sovereignty. On the first day of the event, a delegation from the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering presented its cutting-edge developments in occupational safety and personnel training.

The SPbGASU exhibition stand featured the "Smart Labour" educational training site. Visitors to the stand had the unique opportunity not only to learn about the facility but also to participate in an interactive experience. Participants were able to try on an exoskeleton and undergo a short virtual reality training session using a VR headset.

As part of the business program on the first day of the forum, Aleksandr Dmitriev, Director of the Smart Labor training site and Assistant Professor at the Department of Technosphere Safety, made a report. He presented his experience in applying advanced educational solutions in the construction industry. The expert emphasized the importance of VR simulators, which allow future engineers to model emergency situations without risking their lives. The transition from theory to practice-oriented learning significantly improves the quality of specialist training.

On the second day of the forum, Galina Nam, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Technosphere Safety, spoke. In her presentation on "Digitalization of the Occupational Safety Monitoring System in the Construction Industry," she focused on the transformation of the existing occupational safety management system. This process involves the active use of digital technologies. This approach is an important step toward creating a modern system of preventative measures. The new system will minimize risks and reduce the incidence of industrial injuries.

The developments presented by SPbGASU clearly demonstrate that the university is preparing personnel capable of working effectively in the context of the digital transformation of the Russian construction industry.
