Based on the results of the Open International Internet Olympiads for the 2025/2026 academic year, conducted by the Research Institute for Education Quality Monitoring at St Petersburg State University in Peterhof, SPbGASU students were awarded prizes.

The most successful presentation was in the discipline "Descriptive Geometry and Engineering Graphics", where second-year student of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services Aleksandr Korobov was awarded a gold medal, Matvey Matveyev (second-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering) and Apollinaria Letunova (first-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering) received silver medals. (Read more about their presentation in a separate news item).

In the discipline "Strength of Materials" our students won silver and bronze awards: they were won by second-year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Rostislav Surin and second-year student of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building Anton Gatsula, respectively.

SPbGASU students also achieved great results in the "Physics" discipline: silver medal - Lev Stepanov (first year student of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building), bronze went to Saida Zankishieva (first year student of the Faculty of Civil Engineering).

Inspired by their success, our Olympians took part in the 5th Open International Olympiad in the discipline "Strength of Materials" on 18 March, organized by the Turkmen State Institute of Architecture and Civil Engineering. This time, the places were distributed as follows: Anton Gatsula - 2nd place diploma, Rostislav Surin - 3rd place diploma.

The leader and mentor for the "Strength of Materials" team is Nadezhda Ostrovskaya, PhD of Engineering Sciences, Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Mechanics: “All of our victories were made possible thanks to the enthusiasm of the students and the creation of the "Strength of Materials" Enthusiasts Club, which has been operating for two years now, based on such disciplines as strength of materials and elasticity theory, and gives students the opportunity to solve problems that go beyond the standard educational courses, broadens their horizons, and improves their level of preparation for participation in Olympiads,” she said.

"I am thankful to Nadezhda Vladimirovna Ostrovskaya for preparing me for the Olympiad and the opportunity to showcase my knowledge. I practiced solving complex problems at the "Strength of Materials" Club, which helped me at the Olympiad," noted Anton Gatsula.

The Physics Olympiad participants prepared under the guidance of Tatiana Rogozhina, Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Physics, Electrical Power Engineering, and Electrical Engineering, and PhD of Physico-Mathematical Sciences. “I thank our mentor, Tatiana Sergeevna Rogozhina, for her trust and support,” said Lev Stepanov.

Congratulations and wishes of continued success to our students!
