St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering emerged as the overall winner of the II International Competition of Educational Programs, "Development of Human Resource Potential," for the 2025/2026 academic year in the "Engineering Networks" category. The educational programs offered by the Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation and the Department of Water Use and Environment received high praise.
The awards ceremony took place on 15 October in Moscow as part of the All-Russian Engineering Forum "Power of the Platform 2026," which focused on the advancement of design, the digitalization of the engineering sector, and the implementation of domestic software. SPbGASU was represented by First Vice-Rector Svetlana Golovina.
The forum brought together representatives from the fields of education, industry, and the professional community: over 1,500 people attended in person, more than 5,000 viewers joined via the online broadcast, and the business program featured presentations by over 130 speakers.
The competition is organized by the company "Nanosoft Development" and is aimed at advancing engineering education, as well as integrating Russian software solutions into the training of specialists. In the 2025/2026 academic year, the competition attained international status: in addition to Russian educational institutions, it saw participation from representatives of the Republic of Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, and Kazakhstan. Vocational and technical education institutions have also joined the project.
During the forum, Viktoria Vinogradova, SPbGASU Vice-Rector for Continuing Education, presented the university’s experience in fostering collaboration between academia and the business sector for the training of engineering professionals. In her presentation, titled "Synergy between business and education: the university’s role in developing talent for the domestic engineering ecosystem in design and modeling," she discussed the advancement of digital competencies, the updating of educational programs to align with industry needs, and the implementation of practice-oriented teaching methods.
One example of this work was the professional development program "Information Modeling in Architectural Restoration – TIM 4.0." A total of 455 people registered for the program; 72 participants successfully completed a final project and passed the assessment, receiving a professional development certificate from SPbGASU as well as a certificate from Nanosoft.
Another highlight of the forum was the presentation of the textbook "Development of Building Information Models: nanoCAD BIM Construction," prepared by a team of authors under the guidance of Alena Vedernikova, PhD of Engineering Sciences, Acting Head of the SPbGASU Department of Information and Mathematical Modeling Technologies. The publication is intended to expand the educational and methodological resources for information modeling and help students master domestic engineering design tools.
Victory in an international competition confirms the high level of SPbGASU’s educational programs and the university’s contribution to training in-demand engineering professionals. The combination of specialized training, the practical application of domestic software, and collaboration with the professional community fosters the development of engineering education and strengthens the human resource capacity of the construction industry.
Congratulations to the departments of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, and Water Use and Environment, on this well-deserved recognition! We wish you continued professional achievements, successful projects, and the further development of your educational initiatives.
