On 24 March - 1 April, the V International Exhibition of Eurasian Education was held in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, which brought together representatives of the largest universities and secondary vocational schools. SPbGASU was represented by Andrey Zazykin, Dean of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building, and Svetlana Petrova, Head of the International Relations Division.

Kyrgyz applicants showed great interest in studying at SPbGASU. This is due to the fact that the construction and transport industries are developing especially actively here, and the republic needs appropriate specialists.

At a round table on training personnel for the transport sector, Bektemir Kylychbekov, specialist of the Department of Transport of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Kyrgyzstan, expressed confidence that specialized education is the main source of development of the state. Now there are about one and a half million vehicles in the republic, various types of transportation operate, and it is important to competently manage these assets: maintain and repair roads, improve logistics and infrastructure. However, local universities are not yet able to fully provide the industry with personnel.

Andrey Zazykin, in turn, spoke about SPbGASU training highly qualified specialists capable of solving complex industry problems, professional standards, ongoing training programs, including those that are preparing to undergo international accreditation.

The participants agreed to make such meetings regular.

Applicants from Kyrgyzstan can study in Russia within quotas allocated by the Ministry of Higher Education and Science of the Russian Federation - the implementation of this project is carried out by the Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation (Rossotrudnichestvo). Andrey Zazykin and Svetlana Petrova visited the Russian House in Bishkek, discussed with colleagues from Rossotrudnichestvo the issues of education of Kyrgyz students in Russia. “Over the past two years, the number of quotas has doubled,” said Irina Gurina, a representative of the agency in the Kyrgyz Republic, “so future students have every chance to study in bachelor’s, specialist’s and master’s programs in priority areas of study for their country.” In SPbGASU, representatives of Kyrgyzstan are most interested in the specialties "Transport processes technologies" and "Land transport and technological means", as well as programs of additional professional education.

In addition, within the framework of the exhibition, SPbGASU representatives held a series of meetings with the managers of professional colleges in Bishkek, as well as the Kyrgyz-Russian Slavic University named after B. N. Yeltsin and the Kyrgyz State Technical University named after I. Razzakov, at which they agreed on further interaction and the conclusion of cooperation agreements.
