Second-year students majoring in Landscape Architecture at the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering completed a paid internship. From May to June, they actively participated in projects at the CEKH landscape architecture workshop. The internship was organized by Pavel Ostapchuk, the workshop employee and Assistant at the SPbGASU Department of Landscape Architecture.
Students visited key transplant nurseries and plant sales centers in St Petersburg and the Leningrad Region, studied the nomenclature and classification of planting material, learned the intricacies of growing and caring for plants, and mastered the basic principles of lawn care.
A key part of the program was a master class led by the instructor on geoplastics and planting perennials, trees, and shrubs. The students immediately put their theoretical knowledge into practice in the Vsevolozhsk District of the Leningrad Region.
A practice-oriented approach to learning gives students a unique opportunity to work on relevant projects and learn from the experience of practicing professionals.
