Students from the St Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering successfully competed in the All-Russian Applied Mechanics Student Olympiad with international participation. Following the competition, one university team won, and the other earned bronze.

The Olympiad was held at the Advanced Engineering School "Digital Engineering" of Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Association of Technical Universities, and the Federal Educational and Methodological Association for Mechanical Engineering. Twenty-three teams from 19 universities in Russia and neighboring countries participated in the competition, with the total number of participants exceeding 100.

The first place was won by the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering team. It included Daniil Karpov, Anastasia Prokofieva, Daria Alekseeva, and Viktor Tikhonov. The team was led by Nadezhda Ostrovskaya, Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Mechanics.

The team of the Faculty of Automobile and Road Building also showed a strong performance, taking third place. It included Elizaveta Slyuntyaeva, Anton Gatsula, Anna Barannikova and Fedor Bobylkov. The team was led by Alena Kolomeets, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Land Transport and Technological Machines.

As part of the main program, participants solved six problems: three on theoretical mechanics and three on strength of materials. Besides, the students took part in additional activities, including engineering competitions and excursions to leading St Petersburg enterprises.

The Olympiad has become not only a platform for demonstrating engineering knowledge and skills, but also an important space for exchanging experiences, establishing professional contacts, and strengthening interactions between students, teachers, and industry representatives.
