Students from the SPbGASU Faculty of Civil Engineering participated in the Youth Day of the St Petersburg International Economic Forum. The university was represented by Ekaterina Buryak, Anastasia Zimovets, Vladimir Laptev, Daria Shamanova, and Zlata Zolotykh.

During the forum, the students attended thematic sessions on economics, modern technology, and artificial intelligence, explored exhibits from leading Russian companies and regions, and had the opportunity to interact with business representatives and the expert community.

Ekaterina Buryak shared her impressions of the discussion "The attention economy as a new market infrastructure." "The main issue raised during the discussion was the transformation of the classic market relationship between seller and consumer. In an era of oversupply of goods and services, consumer attention is becoming a priority for companies. We were very impressed by the stands presented by the country's largest companies and regions at the forum. It's very valuable that young people have the opportunity to be part of such a large-scale event," she noted.

Anastasia Zimovets spoke about the lecture on artificial intelligence: "The discussion covered the use of AI in education and everyday life, technological development, regulation of unreliable information online, and the implementation of neural networks in various professions. It was very interesting to hear the opinions of experts from a wide range of fields: journalists, politicians, teachers, and writers."

According to Vladimir Laptev, the forum provided valuable professional experience for the students: "I carefully studied the company and regional booths and learned about the latest innovations developed by our specialists. Also valuable was the live interaction with the HR specialist at EtalonProekt, who is responsible for recruiting designers in St Petersburg and Moscow. This helped me better understand the requirements for future specialists."

Zlata Zolotykh emphasized the importance of Youth Day for future professionals: "I am very pleased to be part of such a significant event for Russia as SPIEF 2026. Youth Day is an important part of the forum, as we, the future generation, can experience the real economy, major projects, and understand how to build our professional futures. These aren't just lectures and meetings; they're an opportunity to make a name for yourself, showcase your developments, and receive feedback from industry leaders."

Andrey Egorov, Professor at the SPbGASU Department of Construction Technology, DSc in Economics, and PhD of Engineering Sciences, provided support to students throughout all stages of the competitive selection process and their participation in the forum. He also participated in SPIEF 2026 events along with the university representatives.

In addition, SPbGASU students—members of the university's Volunteer Club—were involved in the forum, helping to organize and conduct the events.

SPbGASU students' participation in the St Petersburg International Economic Forum provided valuable professional and personal development opportunities, enabling them to become familiar with current trends in economics, technology, and the construction industry, and expand their professional network.
