On 3 March, the All-Russian Student Sports Festival "UniverLeague" concluded in Krasnoyarsk. It brought together over 3,000 participants from 49 regions of Russia and abroad. Representatives of student sports clubs, including the SPbGASU Student Sports Club team, participated in this large-scale sporting event.
The festival featured competitions in 27 disciplines, ranging from classic sports like volleyball and swimming to modern formats like phygital sports, yukigassen, and drone racing. Participants competed for awards in various categories, including the UniverLeague GTO Cup, the UniverLeague of Faculties, and the UniverLeague of Champions. In addition to the competitions, the festival program included educational and networking events: open dialogues with renowned athletes, lectures, and master classes for representatives of student sports clubs.
SPbGASU was represented at the festival by students Ekaterina Andreeva, Anastasia Golovina, Egor Minaev, Alina Romanova, Sofia Selezneva, Arseny Sutyagin, and Bogdan Yankovets. The team included representatives of track and field, boxing, rhythmic gymnastics, hockey, and rock climbing. The athletes competed as members of the Association of Student Sports Clubs of Russia.
Over the course of three days, participants competed in both sports and intellectual competitions. The SPbGASU team took part in the "GTO Race," swimming competitions, an obstacle course, tug-of-war, and a sports-themed intellectual quiz, where questions focused on sports films, the rules of various disciplines, the activities of the Association of Student Sports Clubs, and music associated with sporting events.
2 March was a successful day for our athletes: the SPbGASU team won the golf competition taking first place. Participants competed in both mini-golf and a simulator on a game console.
Our athletes also performed well in the "innovation lane," where participants had to complete a series of tasks: mimic dance moves using motion sensors, hit a target with a laser gun, control a drone, and complete a course on a rowing machine.
In laser tag, the guys confidently reached the semi-finals, but lost to the "Olimp" team and finished in the fight for third place.
Participation in the UniverLeague gave SPbGASU athletes the opportunity to test their strengths in various disciplines, exchange experiences with teams from different regions, and contribute to the development of university sports.
