From 8 to 10 April, the Kazan State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering hosted the finals of the All-Russian Student Construction Olympiad for bachelor's, master's, and specialist's students in the fields of "Industrial and Civil Engineering" and "Construction of Unique Buildings and Structures." More than 80 students from 15 universities participated in the competition.

The Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering was represented by nine students from the Faculty of Civil Engineering, led by Anna Tsarenko, Deputy Dean for Educational Work and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Construction Management.

All of our participants prepared diligently for the Olympiad: they worked together to solve complex problems and, like a true team, worked on drawings and calculations to represent their university with dignity.

SPbGASU students showed brilliant results.

Among the master's students in the "Architecture" category, Zlata Zolotykh took first place, and Nikita Pyatkov took third place. In the "Organization of construction" category, Diana Lodochnikova took first place.

Among the students of the specialist's programs, Ekaterina Buryak took first place, and Artem Grigoriev took second place in the category "Foundations engineering." Anastasia Zimovets took first place in the category "Structural mechanics."

Among bachelor's students, Valeria Barashkova took third place in the category "Organization of construction ", and Ivan Kazakov took third place in the category "Structural mechanics".

In addition, SPbGASU students took an honorable third place in the overall team standings.

A rich cultural program was organized for the participants: university tours, where they immersed themselves in the educational process and toured modern laboratories; and walks around Kazan, where they saw the famous Kul Sharif Mosque, the Kremlin, the Annunciation Cathedral, and other landmarks. We express our gratitude for the warm welcome, interesting tours, and the opportunity to get to know KSUACE!

Students shared their opinions about participating in the Olympiad.

"I enjoyed the Olympiad at KSUACE for the variety of tasks and the opportunity to demonstrate my knowledge in all areas of construction. It was a pleasure to combine this with exploring an interesting and picturesque city with a centuries-old history. I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Olympiad organizers, as well as to our university for the opportunity to participate," said Artem Grigoriev.

"The Olympiad tasks consisted of an end-to-end design exercise, which required students to design a building and develop each section within it, as well as additional tasks testing their knowledge of disciplines. It initially seemed impossible to adequately cover so many areas of construction in such a short period of time, but the human brain is incredible: in a limited timeframe, it can accumulate so much knowledge that the results are truly impressive! It was a truly rewarding experience, and I'd love to see more Olympiads and competitions like this!" noted Ekaterina Buryak.

"I was thrilled to be part of our university team and to have represented it with dignity! I'm incredibly grateful to all the organizers for providing us with wonderful tours of the university and this beautiful city in addition to the Olympiad," said Zlata Zolotykh.

We congratulate the students on their excellent results and wish all our students continued success in achieving new heights!
