Students from the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering successfully competed in the International Olympiad "GZK-2026. Geo-Challenge." The competition, held on 22–24 April at the State University of Land Management in Moscow, brought together 25 teams from Russia and abroad.

The team included third-year students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services (FEE&MS), majoring in Land Management and Cadastres, Elizaveta Kondratieva (team captain), Maria Emelyanova, Veronika Obryazhaeva, Roman Rashchupkin and Anatoly Loskutov.

The Olympiad program covered all key aspects of the modern industry: from classical land management and geodesy to real estate valuation and legal support for cadastral activities. Competition unfolded across five challenging categories: "Land Management," "Cadastre, Land and Environmental Monitoring," "Geodesy and Remote Sensing," "Land Resources and Real Estate Management," and "Land and Real Estate Valuation." The SPbGASU team excelled in one of the most competitive categories—"Land Resources and Real Estate Management." The FEE&MS students once again confirmed their high level, taking a respectable third place.

The guys' success was the result of long preparation under the supervision of their mentor, Acting Head of the Department of Geodesy, Land Management and Cadastre, PhD of Engineering Sciences Yana Volkova.

Dmitry Ulrikh, Dean of the FEE&MS, commented on the students' achievement, emphasizing the importance of such victories for professional development: "Our students' performance at an Olympiad of this level is not just a prize, but an objective confirmation of the quality of education at the faculty. The Land Management and Cadastres program today requires a synthesis of engineering knowledge, legal literacy, and digital technology skills. The ability to effectively manage land assets and real estate in a highly competitive environment is precisely what the real economy expects from graduates. I congratulate the team and their mentor, Yana Volkova, on this victory. You have proven that the SPbGASU school is capable of competing equally with the world's leading specialized universities. I am confident that this experience will be a powerful driver for your future professional and academic growth."
