SPbGASU Holds Pre-Defense of Student Startup Projects

The pre-defense of student startups took place at the Growth Point space of the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The projects were developed as part of the "Startup as a Diploma" program.

The pre-defense took place over two days – 29 and 30 April. Twelve student teams from the Faculties of Automobile and Road  Building, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services, presented the expert committee with the projects in the areas of construction technologies, digital solutions, and engineering services.

The expert commission was headed by Marina Malyutina, SPbGASU Vice-Rector for Youth Policy.

The commission included:

  • Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Andrey Nikulin;

  • Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Civil Engineering for Career Guidance Counceling Sergey Bovteev;

  • Associate Professor at the Department of Construction Economics and Housing and Utility Infrastructure Timur Ablyazov;

  • Associate Professor at the Department of Geotechnics Andrey Boyarintsev;

  • Associate Professor at the Department of Land Transport and Technological Machines Nikolay Podoprigora;

  • Senior Lecturer at the Department of Geodesy, Land Management and Cadastre Dmitry Dietrikh;

  • General Director of the engineering company "City A" Anton Tukkia;

  • General Director of Vsevolozhsk Crane Plant LLC Oleg Ershov;

  • General Director of the Research Center for the Efficiency of Regional Transport Systems Oleg Arefyev;

  • Technical Director of the Project Management Unit of the Glorax Company Dmitry Gladkovsky;

  • Technical Director of Future BIM company Mikhail Novoselov

The students presented the following projects:

  • "Code.ak", a platform for student IT solutions (Andrey Kornyushin and Kirill Fershtadt);

  • "maps4people", a cross-platform mobile application for intelligent navigation inside buildings and complexes (Kirill Tishunin and Danila Lutsev);

  • a platform for accessing digital twins of real estate objects (Yana Pervushina);

  • an intelligent system for automated drawing and verification of land plots during complex cadastral works (Maria Emelyanova and Vyacheslav Varlamov);

  • a platform for express market valuation of commercial real estate (Anastasia Voronova);

  • Al-agent, assistant water supply and sanitation engineer (Evgeny Suvorov and Zakhar Utkov);

  • a digital platform for organizing the redistribution of residual building materials (Aleksandr Razinkov, Aleksey Titavnin and Bogdan Yakovenko);

  • a system for automating the accounting and management of resources in construction using information modeling technologies (Aksham Kolzhenbaev, Ksenia Vitsina, Anna Pinkhasovich and Maria Egorova);

  • an automated system for assessing the technical condition of cultural heritage sites (Igor Muzyka);

  • an algorithm for analyzing the quality of public transport services, taking into account the priority of urban ground electric transport (Ivan Beshentsev);

  • a telematic system for monitoring the technical condition of a vehicle (Anton Veselov, Dmitry Ein and Artem Timofeev);

  • a diagnostic stand for steering racks with electric power steering (Denis Trubin and Semyon Sharovarov).

Experts noted a significant improvement of the quality and development of projects compared to previous stages.

Following the pre-defense, participants received detailed expert recommendations, including on strengthening the business model, refining technical and economic indicators, and developing scenarios for implementing the developments in practice. These comments will help refine the startups before the final defense.

Summing up, Marina Malyutina emphasized that the projects presented by the students had real potential for further development, and many have already attracted the attention of industry experts. The Vice-Rector thanked all project participants, wished them a successful defense, and noted that it was precisely practical experience that helped develop leaders capable of transforming Russia's construction industry.
