Lecturers of the FEE&MS and colleagues from China
Teachers from Henan University of Urban Construction (China) completed an internship at the SPbGASU Department of Water Use and Environment and Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation, to receive certificates.
According to Shuainat Akhmadulaeva, Head of the SPbGASU International Relations Division, cooperation with Henan University of Urban Construction (HUUC) has been developing dynamically since 2017 and provides for a wide range of areas, including the implementation of joint educational programs, academic exchange of teachers and students, holding joint summer schools, carrying out scientific and technical developments, holding scientific and practical conferences, expanding the laboratory base, and publishing activities.
"Since 2022, SPbGASU has been participating in the implementation of the educational program for training bachelors in "Water Supply and Sanitation", financed by the Chinese side. Up to 20 teachers from seven departments of our university took part in this work annually. Now, eight teachers from Henan University of Urban Construction have completed an internship at the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services," explained Shuainat Akhmadulaeva.
Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services for career guidance counceling Olesya Samodolova said that the interns also attended a class in the laboratory of the Department of Heat and Gas Supply and Ventilation. SPbGASU teachers Nikolay Ponomarev and Kirill Sukhanov held a laboratory class on a heating device, demonstrated the equipment, talked about virtual laboratory work and stands.
Presenting certificates of completion of the internship to colleagues from China, Dean of the FEE&MS Dmitry Ulrikh expressed hope that the experience gained will be useful to them in their professional activities.
"Cooperation with Henan University of Urban Construction has provided for quite large prospects. With the management of our university, we discussed the possibility of implementing a double degree program in the specialty of water supply and sanitation with the subsequent expansion of fields of study. While cooperating in educational activities, we will be glad to jointly develop the scientific direction as well," noted Dmitry Ulrikh.
The head of the Chinese delegation, He Yali, Associate Professor at Henan University of Urban Construction, confirmed that they had indeed learned a lot of new things during the several days of the internship.
"We attended classes and appreciated the very high level of teaching. We hope to continue cooperation, including within the double degree program. We will also be glad to see you at our university," He Yali noted.
Head of the SPbGASU Department of Water Use and Environment Svyatoslav Fedorov added that the cooperation continues: next week, SPbGASU teachers will go to Henan University of Urban Construction, where they will conduct classes.
