On 10 June, the SPbGASU Educational Center for Project-Based Learning announced the results of the information modeling competition, organized by the engineering company "Software Solutions Center" in collaboration with the university.
Over the course of a month, students created a digital information model of a physical education and health complex using Model Studio CS software.
Before starting the design, they were required to develop guidelines for organizing teamwork and subsequently collaborate with technical support from project experts. The experts assessed the quality of the model and the work organization.
First place was awarded to Team No. 5, consisting of third- and fourth-year students of the Faculty of Environmental Engineering and Municipal Services (EEMS) Maria Bakhireva, Ekaterina Vinogradova, Aleksandra Vitsina, Vlada Kurtinaitis, Nikita Lyamshev, Maksim Manykaev and Vera Soldatova. The experts noted the best regulations and excellent teamwork of these participants.
Second place went to team No. 3. It included fourth-year students of the Faculty of Civil Engineering Nina Gagulina, Anzhelika Yakovleva and first-year student of the Faculty of EEMS Polina Orlova
In third place was team No. 2, consisting of Alena Akimova, Maria Brednikhina and Yulia Khromysheva (all fourth-year students at the Faculty of EEMS).
The best in the individual competition were BIM coordinator Vera Soldatova and Vlada Kurtinaitis (architectural and structural solutions).
All winners were awarded certificates, cash prizes and gifts.
According to experts, "the competition demonstrated that SPbGASU students are ready to tackle complex problems, work in a team, and learn new things. Even if they didn't get it right the first time, the feedback from the experts gave them a clear direction for professional growth."
