A delegation from the Qingdao University of Technology (People's Republic of China), headed by the president of the university, Mr. Tan Xusen, visited SPbGASU on 6 September. The delegation also included Zhou Hongyan, director of the International Affairs Department, and Sun Haitao, director of the Financial Department.

During the visit, the Chinese delegation met with representatives of the SPbGASU management. The parties exchanged information about the universities, discussed directions for the development of mutually beneficial relations and signed a cooperation agreement.

First Vice-Rector Svetlana Golovina welcomed the delegates on behalf of Evgeny Rybnov, SPbGASU Rector .

According to Svetlana Golovina, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China have always been linked by ties of strategic partnership. At present, the concept of further cooperation between the two countries - "Plan-2030" is being developed at the level of heads of states. Its special part will be devoted to education, science and culture.

Svetlana Golovina said that SPbGASU traditionally pays great attention to the implementation of scientific and educational projects with Chinese universities. The university has signed cooperation agreements with the Beijing University of Civil Engineering and Architecture, Henan University of Urban Development, Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology. Cooperation provides for a wide range of areas: the implementation of joint educational programs, academic exchange of teachers and students, holding joint summer schools, scientific and technical developments, holding conferences, expanding the laboratory base and much more.

Currently, undergraduate and PhD students from the People's Republic of China are studying at SPbGASU. The program of the preparatory department for the study of the Russian language is very popular. An additional educational program in the Chinese language will be implemented in the coming academic year.

Mr. Tan Xusen highlighted the similarities between the two universities, opening up new opportunities for cooperation.

Chinese scientists received an invitation to the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Architecture - Construction - Transport - Economics", which will be held at SPbGASU on 22–23 November. They were also offered to publish their papers on the pages of scientific journals of our university, as well as to review the articles of their compatriots.

Mr. Tan Xusen said that he considered this meeting the first step towards cooperation. The next meeting will be held at Qingdao University of Technology.
