On 11 April, 2026, the All-Russian Conference of School Students' Research and Project Works, "Youth. Science. Culture - North," was held at the Saint Petersburg State University of Architecture and Civil Engineering. The event was organized with the participation of the regional branch of the All-Russian public organization "Junior Academy of Sciences 'Intellect of the Future'."
The conference brought together schoolchildren from across Russia, who presented the results of their research and project works. The event was a continuation of the collaboration between SPbGASU and the Junior Academy of Sciences "Intellect of the Future," which has been successfully developing since 2022, including through the SPbGASU career guidance program "One-day student".
The conference's opening ceremony took place in the university's assembly hall. As part of the business program, participants worked in ten thematic sections covering a wide range of scientific fields: from programming, robotics, physics, and astronomy to biology, medicine, ecology, chemistry, history, cultural studies, linguistics, as well as pedagogy and psychology.
Over 130 research and project papers were presented during the breakout sessions. The projects were peer-reviewed by a representative council comprised of leading scientists and lecturers from Saint Petersburg universities, including representatives from the A.I. Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia, St Petersburg State University, St Petersburg Chemical-Pharmaceutical University, Peter the Great St Petersburg Polytechnic University, and other educational and scientific organizations.
Following the project defenses, a summary of the sections' work was held. A methodological seminar was organized for teachers, aimed at sharing experiences in supporting schoolchildren's research activities.
In addition to the scientific program, participants were offered cultural and educational activities: a tour of the SPbGASU Scientific and Technical Library, a "Colors of Spring" master class, and an intellectual game and quiz dedicated to National Unity Day.
The "Youth. Science. Culture – North" conference aims to develop the intellectual and creative potential of young people, support their research activities, and advance their career paths. SPbGASU's participation in organizing the event helps attract talented applicants and strengthen the university's collaboration with educational institutions across Russia's regions.
The organizers expressed confidence that the conference would be an important step in the further development of cooperation and would facilitate the involvement of senior schoolchildren in the university's scientific and educational environment.
