SPbGASU hosted a reunion for alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Management (FEM) who graduated 20 years ago. Two decades later, the former students gathered again at their beloved university to see their coursemates, reminisce about their years of study, and see how the university has changed. The graduates were greeted by Galina Tokunova, Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management.
For many participants, the meeting became a true journey through time. Familiar lecture halls and corridors evoked vivid memories of student life, preparing for exams, coursework, and theses, as well as the people involved in the most important events of that period.
A graduate of the Faculty of Economics, Elena Petrovskaya, admitted that returning to the university evoked strong emotions. "Of course, it was nostalgia, joy, a flood of memories. Very vivid and positive emotions. I visited some familiar places, which keep a part of me!" she said.

After graduating from SPbGASU, Elena connected her professional activity with the field of geodesy and cartography. Today, she works as a cartographer, prepares topographic maps and technical documentation, interacts with government agencies and participates in conducting expert examinations of projected facilities.
According to the graduate, the knowledge gained at the university has found application in her professional activities. "The knowledge I gained here was really useful to me. When you come to work, you always need practice, but you can't go anywhere without a theoretical basis," said Elena Petrovskaya.
The guests were particularly impressed by the changes that have taken place at the university in recent years. Graduates were able to see the renovated spaces and modern infrastructure. "The institute's appearance has changed dramatically. It's now clean, tidy, beautiful, and modern. It's clear the university is evolving with the times. It's amazing," said Elena Petrovskaya.
Speaking about current students, the graduate wished them not only a responsible approach to their studies but also the courage to seek their professional calling. "The most important thing is to find your path. Don't be afraid to change direction if you realize you're interested in something else. It's important to do what you love, and then everything else will fall into place," she believes.
The alumni reunion gave them the opportunity not only to reminisce about the past but also to see what SPbGASU had become today. For many guests, the university remains an important part of their lives, a place associated with their formative years, professional choices, and true friendships.
The meeting participants
"It's always great to come back here. We had a fantastic group, interesting teachers, and a vibrant student life. The institute played a huge role in our lives, and those years are unforgettable," emphasized Elena Petrovskaya.
The meeting was further confirmation that years at SPbGASU remain an important part of the graduates' lives. Despite the passing decades, the university continues to unite people for whom it has become a place of professional development, friendship, and lasting memories.
