The student life is not only lectures, tests and seminars. In many ways, the concept of student everyday life is made up of extracurricular activities and events. Our university pays great attention to the development of physical culture and sports.

Calisthenics at SPbGASU began thanks to the efforts of Tatiana Aleksandrovna Grineva, master of sports, 15 years ago. The formation of the GASU calisthenics team began, and there were no gymnasts in the first team, the girls were dancing and decided to try themselves in professional sports. The girls competed in the championship of universities in the mass category (CMS, 1, 2 category) with group exercises, with hoops and ropes, later they added ribbons and balls.

The best achievement was winning 2nd place in the championship of universities in St Petersburg.

Since 2013, the GASU team has been performing in two categories: sports and mass, is a multiple winner of the championships of St Petersburg and the championships of universities in St Petersburg.

In 2017, 2018, the team became the bronze medalist of the championships of universities in St Petersburg.

Sports achievements

In 2018/2019 academic year at the championship of universities in St Petersburg, the combined team of SPbGASU in calisthenics won the third team place.
